Rachael’s Healthy Embrace – The First Day

Rachael will be joining us weekly with a blog about her successes and struggles.  I fail as a mentor today because in all the excitement I forgot to get her measurements.  I will add those to the end of her blog next week.  But for now, here is Rachael’s summary for DAY 1 and Food Log.

We are at the closing of DAY 1. It’s a mixed emotion because I stood here before…and , well, it kinda just happens when you change your eating habits and lifestyle — you miss the comfort and yearn for it but you just have to know that what’s around the corner is SO much better.

But, yes, I’ve been here before. With a different coach when I won a makeover — that was before my life fell completely apart (which, oddly enough, allowed my life to fall completely together.) And my feet are planted, my kid walked away almost completely unscathed and I was ready to begin again. However, the previous coach was not in the same mind frame and while one thing works for one person, it doesn’t work for us all. She has taken on more clients, more projects, etc. and the timing wasn’t right for her.

So here’s Gina, who’s walked the walk and can now talk the talk, stepping up and dealing with my b*tchiness (because believe me, today I was). And I am more than ready.

I don’t believe I failed last time, although it took me all day to convince myself this, I just wasn’t in the right place. My life is more together today than it has ever been. And I have more support and help and assistance. This time, there is therapy, EMDR and possibly acupunture. There is me time and a coach who has actually succeeded.

So, day 1. I did pretty well… I already know all the days won’t be like this, but I want to get started on the right foot. And now, here’s to day 2!

0800 smoothie: 3/4 c water, 1/2 c coconut water, 1/2 scoop raw meal, 1 c strawberries, 1/2 a banana
1000 12 oz water
1000-1100 walk to bank and grocery store (~2 miles)
1100 12 oz water, 5 bb carrots
1200 1/4 c sprouts, 1 c lettuce, 1 radish, 3 bb carrots, 1/2 a grilled chicken breast, 3 apple slices, 8 oz water
1300 12 oz water
1430-1530 Green Strings Farm
1715 smoothie: 1/2 c coconut milk, 1 c water, 1/2 c mixed berries, 1/4 c chopped bb kale, 1/2 scoop raw meal, 8 oz water
